Winter hike from Schwende towards Osterberg
Tour description
This diverse winter hiking trail is characterized by a variety of landscapes; it leads through agricultural villages, sunny hillside slopes, a snow-covered moorland, and spruce forests, ending in snow-blanketed mountain meadows. The winter hike starts at the Gasthof Bergblick and continues over sunny slopes with views of a charming moorland towards the Alpengasthof Hörnlepass. From here, the winter trail runs partly parallel to the cross-country ski track, following the national border to the idyllic high valley basin in the Außerwald. The groomed winter trail ends on a sunny slope near an old barn, offering a highly rewarding view of the Allgäu and Kleinwalsertal peaks. The hike returns along the same route to the starting point.
